Brief Description:

Spain is one of the strong economic countries in the world. The area of the country is 504,030 square kilometers. The government system is parliamentary government .The total population is about 46500000. The name of currency is Euro.

Brief History:

Different people came in this great country in different times .Iberians , Libyan people were the first who came from the south, Celts, later, a typically Aryan people came and from the two there arose a new race. Next came the Phoenicians. They founded a member of trading posts along the coast. The most important post was the Cadiz.

After the Roman victory began the conquest of Spain. Spain got four powerful elements from Rome: The Latin language ,Roman law, the municipality and the Christian religion. After the Roman came Vandals and Alans and they were defeated by the Visigoths who virtually Occupied the whole peninsula. Arab entered from the south at the beginning of the 8^th century. The period of  Muslims sway is divided into there periods-The Emirat, Caliphate and the Reinos de Taifas (small independent kingdom). Since 1469 from the marriage of the Catholic Monarchs. Spain saw the growing success. The Canary Islands becomes part of Spanish territory in 1495.

The 16^th and 17^th centuries experienced the construction and apogee of the Spanish Empire and become the World’s foremost power. The war succession marked the culmination of the Habsburs and the coming of the Bourbons .Joseph Bonaparte was installed on the Spanish throne in 1808.After the defeat of Napoleon at Waterloo, Ferolinand vii was made the king of Spain. He changed the law of succession and his daughter Isabel was established as queen .As a result War of seven years broke out, for the political inslability and economic recession ,spain lost its most of its colonics. Spain lost its last overseas possessions for a war agains United states .

Spain maintained a position of neutrality in world War I. Generally Maiguel primo de Revera become dictator in 1923. In the 40^th decades, the new constitution declared Spain a workers Republic, broke up the large estates ,separated chrch and sate,secularized the schools. Manuel Azuna became president after the election in 1936.

In 1936,Conservative army officer Fransisco Franco Bahamonde led a mutiny against the government and the civil war lasted 3 years costing lives of a million people .the war ended in 1939 and Franco became the head of the state and prime minister and leader. The Spanish people  approved a France drafled succession in 1947 law declaring Spain a monarchy again and Franco became chief of state again. After the death of Franco, juan carlos became king in 1975. With the overwhelming election of prime minister a Felipe Gonzalez Marwucz and his Spanish Socialist party in 1982.Parliamentary election, the Franco past was finally buried. Spain joined NATO in 1982 and European Union in 1986. Jose Maria Aznar leader of conservative popular party became prime minister in the General election in 1996. In 2005 Spain legalized gay marriage, though there was a strong opposition from the Catholic Church.
