Brief Description:

Malaysia is situated in Southeast Asia. It is a federation of 13 states. It gained independence in 1957. It is 330434 square kilometers. The country’s population is about 28900000. Most of the people are Muslim here. It was under British colonial rule till 1957.

Brief History:

Malaysia is a radical economic growth country. The country was formed in 1963 out of a number of former British colonies. Singapore is one of the colonies. The Federation of Malay achieved independence in 1957 and Singapore was in favorer of merging  with Malay. In 1961Tunku Abdul Rahman , prime minister of Malay , took the initiative and suggested that a plan should be devised where by different British territories would be brought together with Malay in political and economic cooperation .

The proposal was well received, Britain was also in favor of the proposal. Malaysia was established in September 1963 with Tunku Abdul Rahman as prime minister. Malaysia’s economy started flourishing, by the start of the second World War, with the output of tin and rubber, giving it great strategic importance. Malay fell under the threat of a Japanese invasion when the US and British government froze essential raw materials and oil supplies to japan. After the defeat of the Japanese in the Second World War Malay found resentment to foreign rule Indonesia Voical against, strongly, Malaysia plan and announced that it would crush Malaysia .After outing president Sukarno, a signed peace movement, in 1966, ended the conflict.

There was a violent interracial riots in Kualalumpur and hundreds of people were died. The tension ,which existed between Malays and Chinese, was moved to dissipated by the government .This dissipation was moved through a series of reforms and present day Malaysian society is a model of peace and integration .

A significant period was the rule from 1981 because legendary statesman Mahatir Mohamad ruled. He ruled from 1981-2003, and made him Malaysia’s longest serving prime Minister. He led Malaysia with a rate of over eight per year until 1997.Malaysia is a constitutional monarchy headed by the paramount Ruler. The Ruler is elected by sultans for a five year term from among the nine sultans of the Malay states. This gives Malaysia a unique political system of rotational monarchy . In this system every sultan turns to be the king of Malaysia.

In the 1990 general election, prime Minister Mahathir captured 127 of the 180 national assembly seats. In 1998, it was announced that the Bumiputra racial lowes that favored Malay business would be relaxed to mitigate the impact of the regional economic crisis. In the same year, Mathir bin brought back to the cabinet.
